The Arvin-Edison Water Storage District located in Kern County, California, 20 miles southwest of Bakersfield, is seeking a qualified individual for the position of General Superintendent. The district provides agricultural water service to over 65,000 acres of prime farmland via 45 miles of canal, 170 miles pipeline, 50 pumping plants and water banking facilities consisting of 86 groundwater wells and 2,000 acres of spreading basins. The district also administers a 30 MW power contract and maintains some transmission facilities.

The full-time position will supervise 40 employees, interface with local, state, and federal agencies, and will be required to provide hands-on management of all aspects of the operations and maintenance of the district under the direction of the Management.

The successful candidate will possess strong organizational, technical communication, and project management skills, and be competent to assign and direct the work of staff responsible for the operation, maintenance, and repair of pumps, motors, reservoirs, electrical equipment, and vehicles; and to oversee and participate in all work activities.
